Sabah Rubber Industry Board was formed and is operated under the following:

  1. Rubber Fund Board Ordinance 1950 (Cap 16) which has been replaced with Rubber Fund Board Enactment 1981 No. 25, and the replaced with Rubber Industry Board (Amendment) Enactment 2012, Rubber Industry Board (Amendment) Enactment 2013 and the latest being the Rubber Industry Board (Amendment) Enactment 2014 with regulation that have been made under this Enactment. It gives SRIB the authority to impose a Research Cess at 2.2 sen/kg (RM 22.00/tonne) on all rubber exported from the state of Sabah. This cess is used to fund all SRIB training programmes and consultations to rubber smallholders in Sabah.
  2. Rubber Industry Replanting Fund Ordinance 1954 (Sabah Cap. 170), providing the authority to impose a Replanting Cess at the rate of 5% of the crude rubber price, with a minimum of 4.4 sen/kg (RM44.00/tonne) and maximum of 10 sen/kg (RM100.00/tonne) on all rubber exported from the state of Sabah. This cess is used to fund the Rubber Newplanting Programme and Rubber Replanting Programme for rubber smallholders in Sabah.
  3. Rubber Industry Board Enactment (Amendment) 2004, New Section 25A, providing the authority to impose a Raw Rubber Cess at the rate of 10% of the SMR 20 selling price on all crude rubber that are exported from the state of Sabah, effective on 30 August 2004.
